"Unmasking workplace dehumanization: Emerging directions and insights"
Abstract
This symposium curates research programs that aim to advance theoretical discussions on workplace dehumanization by focusing on the following three interconnected themes: (1) antecedents of workplace dehumanization in the changing landscape of the future of work (e.g., artificial intelligence, social media), (2) novel downstream consequences of dehumanization and the transmitting mechanisms (e.g., workplace wrongdoing, aggression), and (3) extensions of dehumanization phenomenology to theoretically meaningful yet understudied occupational contexts (e.g., online content creation, stunt performance).
